The Intersection of Victimization in Process Serving
Amy Miller, Public Policy Director, CCADV
Our guest speaker that night will be Amy Miller of the Colorado Coalition Against Domestic Violence. She will be speaking to our members about the intersection of victimization with their work. This will focus on two aspects related to victimization: locating victims of crime for their perpetrators and process servers becoming victims of crime when assaulted on the job.
She will discuss what drives domestic violence offenders and stalkers to track down their victims, why it is critical not to be perpetrators or co-conspirators in locating their victims, and the related safety implications for victims and their children.
In addition, she will cover the rights that process servers have in regard to self-defense and as victims of crime in the justice system.
